While we know our ancestors Mariano and Marianna came from Termini Imerese, Sicily, the family name itself hints at an even older origin. 

Some spellings — Pedivellano, D’Vellano, Di Vellano, De Vellano — suggest a connection to Vellano, a walled mountain village in Tuscany dating back to the 10th century.
